To become a Bikesitter on SafeKeeper, you must be of legal age, have a secure space at home (garage, hallway, balcony, cellar) and provide two documents: an ID document and proof of address. Once you’ve sent your documents through the app, our team checks your profile within 24 to 48 hours. After approval, your profile becomes active and you can start receiving storage requests for bikes, e-bikes and e-scooters. You manage your availability and are free to accept or decline each request. No minimum commitment is required.

Yes. Every SafeKeeper Bikesitter is certified after we check their identity, address and insurance. Your bike or e-scooter is kept in a closed private space (garage, hallway, cellar) for the entire storage period. Security rests on three pillars: Bikesitter certification (verified official documents), tracking of every storage in the app, and a transparent rating system that gradually weeds out unreliable profiles.

You can extend your storage directly by messaging your bikesitter. The Bikesitter accepts or declines the extension, and the price is adjusted automatically. If you’re late, the cost of the storage is automatically recalculated to cover the actual duration. Conversely, if your Bikesitter is unavailable at the agreed pick-up time, contact our support team directly from the app: an agent will reply quickly and start a resolution procedure.

The price of a SafeKeeper storage depends on the duration you choose. The first minutes are the most expensive, then the price per minute gradually decreases. The electric charging option, if offered by the Bikesitter, adds a surcharge clearly shown before you confirm. In practice, the longer the storage, the lower the cost per minute - so 4 hours of storage works out much cheaper than a fixed hourly rate. The total price is calculated and displayed before you confirm the booking: no surprises. SafeKeeper takes a service fee on the transaction, and the rest goes to the Bikesitter.

As a SafeKeeper Bikesitter, you can top up your income by looking after bikes and e-scooters from home. How much you earn depends on the number of storage requests you accept, how long they last and your availability — with no fixed hours required.
Each storage is paid according to a price grid that combines a base amount and responsiveness bonuses (the faster you respond, the higher the Bikesitter commission). Earnings are paid directly into your SafeKeeper virtual wallet, from which you can withdraw to your bank account once your balance reaches €15. It’s a 100% flexible activity: you look after vehicles whenever you want, and your income adapts to your pace. For private individuals and for local businesses with premises alike, bike storage is a simple way to monetize unused space.

SafeKeeper only collects the data needed for the service: identity, address, geolocation during storage, and bank details for payment. All data is encrypted, stored in France and GDPR-compliant.
Proof of address is deleted from our database after verification: we only keep a record of the approval, not the documents themselves. Geolocation is only active if you use the feature in the app. You can view, edit or delete your data at any time from your profile, or write to us at dpo@safekeeper.fr. Yes, the price automatically adjusts to the actual storage duration. If you extend via the app, the surcharge is calculated using the same pricing logic. You can see the new amount before confirming. If you know in advance that you’ll be late, let your bikesitter know in the app: it’s simpler and the Bikesitter is kept informed. The Bikesitter is paid for the time actually spent looking after your vehicle, which ensures a fair relationship.
